Community

The companies in the group operate with the knowledge that their activities have an impact on socio-economic development and the general wellbeing of society. For this reason, the company’s relationship with the community is inspired by respect, dialogue and collaboration. Respect for the interests and values of the national and local communities. Dialogue with community representatives and associations to find solutions that respect the interests of all parties involved. Collaboration by supporting social and cultural initiatives aimed at personal development and the improvement of the quality of life.

Some examples of our initiatives

- The KOS group organises every year more than 50 cultural events and conferences open to the public on socal and health topics, thus putting itself forward as a possible reference point for the various local communities.

KOS supports Epsilon, an association that finances social projects to help needy children in the Southern hemisphere providing healthcare, education and food. The group initiated a year-long scholarship in memory of Professor Piero Micossi. The prize aims to encourage and recognise studies, research and experiences related to innovation in the healthcare and nursing sectors.

- Repubblic@scuola.it is a free initiative of the Espresso group that aims to promote the study of newspapers and their techniques both on paper and on the web in middle schools and high schools. The initiative, which is followed by 600,000 students, is in its tenth edition and in 2009 received the World Association of Newspaper (WAN) award as the best project for 2008/2009 dedicated to young people in the “making the news” category.

- The Espresso group is “media partner” of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, one of the most prestigious musical institutions in Italy and among the oldest music academies in the world.  Founded in 1585, Santa Cecilia in 1998 became a private foundation. The company has participated in this foundation since 2000 with marketing and an annual financial contribution. Since 2006, the group is “media partner” of the Auditorium di Roma – Parco della Musica, a top-level institution that in 2005 produced more than 500 cultural events. The group’s commitment comes in the way of both a financial contribution and advertising promotion with the aim of informing people about the Auditorium’s initiatives.

Dynamo Camp

The Dynamo Camp experience is aimed at youngsters aged 7 to 17 suffering from serious or chronic illnesses under treatment or in remission for not more than four years.   Dynamo Camp gives these children an opportunity to enjoy a period of recreation in a safe, protected environment where their welfare is guaranteed by first class medical attention and the constant supervision of qualified staff. The Camp is situated in the heart of Tuscany inside a World Wildlife Fund affiliated reserve, named Oasi Dynamo, which sits just outside Limestre in the Province of Pistoia. CIR supports Dynamo Camp.
