Rodolfo De Benedetti, Chief Executive of Cir, has been nominated by the British magazine Campden Fb and Société Générale Private Banking as one of the top five family business leaders in Europe for the year in the first edition of the European Family Business Awards. Together with De Benedetti  the following people were also nominated:  Jean-François and Jean-Charles Decaux (at the helm of the French communication multinational Jc Decaux and winners of the first prize), the number one of the Spanish supermarket chain Mercadona, Juan Roig, the owner of the German holding company Oetker, Richard Oetker, and the Chairman of the German mechanical company Trumpf, Nicola Leibinger-Kammuller. "Family businesses – explained the organizers of the event – represent around 60 per cent of European business and between 40 and 50 per cent of the workforce. There is no doubt that Europe also needs these important and dynamic businesses in order to recover. "
