Gerardo Benuzzi (Milan, 1960) has been general manager of CIR since November 2011.

Before joining the group he was general manager Finance&Advisory of Prelios (the former Pirelli & C. Real Estate), one of the leading Italian real estate companies listed on the stock exchange. He worked for Pirelli & C. Real Estate from the beginning in December 2007, with positions of increasing importance. He represented the group on various boards of directors of subsidiaries and affiliates in Italy and abroad.

Previously he had worked for approximately ten years in the planning and control area of the Pirelli group tyre sector, with experiences in Italy and Brazil.

He started his professional career as a researcher in the economic research department of Istituto Bancario Italiano (Cariplo group). In 1985 he graduated in Economic Policy from the Bocconi University in Milan, where two years later he obtained a Master in Economics and management.
