Espresso: markets and competitive positioning
The Espresso Group operates exclusively in the Italian market. The groupís revenues are divided between circulation (totalling Ä 218 million in 2015), advertising (346 million in 2015) and optional add-on products.
The groupís daily newspapers (Repubblica and the local dailies) are leaders in Italy in terms of circulation. In 2015 la Repubblica, according to ADS figures, confirmed its ranking as the top newspaper in terms of copies sold on the newsstands and subscriptions and, according to Audipress figures, reported 2.2 million readers per day for the traditional edition.
The network of local newspapers recorded an average of 2.9 million readers per day. Also growing in popularity are the digital products of the newspaper (Repubblica+ and Repubblica Mobile), which in December 2015 had over 893.000 subscribers.
