KOS operates exclusively in the Italian market. The group is the country’s biggest operator of nursing homes in terms of both sales and number of beds under management and the No. 4 company in functional and psychiatric rehabilitation units. These two fields of activity in 2010 represented about 85% of total group sales, while the remaining part came from hospital facilities (hospital management and diagnostic technology management at hospitals). In both of its main sectors of activity, the Italian market is highly fragmented. The group detains a market share of about 2% both in nursing homes and in rehabilitation units. KOS group is mainly active in The Marches, Lombardy and Piedmont regions of Italy – areas that together represented over 70% of 2010 sales – and operates also in Emilia Romagna, Liguria, Trentino Alto Adige and Veneto regions. In the field of advanced diagnostics services, the group has some contracts also in Lazio and Sicily.
